In LyX, we can apply some special structures for some text in LyX,
like Comment, Note, Math Mode, etc.

A question is how to delete these structures?
The answer is: move the cursor to the start of these structures and press Backspace key.

Jave Runtime Environment (JRE) seems has some character encoding bugs on some OS configurations for some look-and-feels.
For example, if your OS is Windows 7 English, whose language (English) is different from Chinese,
and run Pdfsam with Plastic look-and-feel and open a file dialog and navigate to a Chinese path,
you will see the Chinese characters are rendered incorrectly.
However, if your OS is Windows 7 Chinese, the Chinese characters are rendered correctly.

One way to workaround the problem on Windows 7 English is use the "system (native)" look-and-feel.
JabRef has the similar problem.

This is a TCL script for Design Compiler (IC Compiler or SoC Encounter, however, I haven't tested on these). The script can automatically create and connect pad cells to your core module. The detail information is the comments in this script.

Usually, during installing Windows 7, the installer would create an extra system reserved partition for storing Windows Boot Manager files.

If you backup Windows 7 from a computer and restore it to another computer without backing up system reserved partition,
you will lose Windows Boot Manager files. The steps to restore Windows Boot Manager are:
1. Boot from Windows 7 installation CD.
2. After the Windows 7 installer GUI shows, pressing Shift+F10 to invoke a command window.
3. Execute this command (modify this command as your needs):
bcdboot C:\Windows /s C:
4. Close the command window and the Windows 7 installer GUI.

Attentions! Don't use a force shutdown at step 4,
please certainly let Windows 7 installer shutdown your computer.
Otherwise, the data of your Windows partition would corrupt!

In general, some Linux don't turn on "Wakeup on LAN (WOL)" feature.
Therefore, user might find that shutdown a computer by Windows,
WOL works, however, shutdown a computer by Linux,
WOL fails.

Then, how to turn on WOL?
There is a command called ethtool for that.
ethtool is a tool to tune the Linux Ethernet driver settings.
An example to turn on WOL is:
sudo /sbin/ethtool -s eth0 wol g

And, remember to turn on BIOS settings for WOL, irregular of using Windows or Linux.
For example, my motherboard integrates the Ethernet card on the PCIE bus.
Therefore, I enable this BIOS power on settings.

How to Place Two or More Pictures on Same Line in Microsoft Word?

Steps:
1. Draw a table with 1 row and 2 columns.
2. Put one picture in each cell.
3. Set the table border to none.

Word has a limitation on "Insert Caption" two times on the same line.
Thus, another advantage of using this method is user can
"Insert Caption" for each picture on the same table.

These files records the information of user and group ID:
/etc/passwd
/etc/shadow
/etc/group
/etc/gshadow

If you want to reinstall Linux without creating a new home directory,
you should backup these files.

The HP Workstation xw6200 is equipped with two SCSI HDDs and a Logic LSI SCSI adapter. Backing up CentOS from an other workstation and restoring to this HP workstation might meet the boot failure problem. The problem comes from the Linux SCSI kernel modules don’t be load. A solution to this problem is to use a Linux rescue CD to boot the HP workstation, mount the root partition, chroot to the root partition and rebuild a new initrd image which preload the SCSI modules. The SCSI module for the Logic LSI SCSI adapter is mptspi.ko. The example command for rebuild is:
